Zayde Wisdom continues point streak with assist on hard-working shift
The Lehigh Valley Phantoms took down the Hershey Bears on Wednesday night at the PPL Center. The Phantoms are in first place in the North Division with a 5-1-2 record on the season. Zayde Wisdom continued his point streak with an assist on the Phantoms’ game-tying goal in the third period.
It was a game of returns for the Phantoms. 2020 first-round pick Tyson Foerster and 2017 second-round pick Isaac Ratcliffe returned from injuries. On top of that, defensemen-turned-forward Sam Morin played well on defense.
But let’s get to the real story of the Phantoms season thus far: Zayde Wisdom.

Not only did the Phantoms win, but Philadelphia Flyers 2020 fourth-round pick Zayde Wisdom picked up another point as well. He didn’t score a goal, but he recorded a secondary assist on a good shift in the third period.
Wisdom exited the zone with control and was able to battle through a pair of Hershey Bears to get the puck in deep. He and the eventual goal scorer, captain Cal O’Reilly, went to work in the corner. Wisdom worked the puck free to O’Reilly, who got it back to the rookie forward.
Wisdom passed the puck back to Morin at the point, whose shot was tipped home by O’Reilly to tie the game at three in the third period.
Morin got the puck on net, where O’Reilly was able to tip it home. It tied the game at three and the Phantoms went on to take their decisive 4-3 lead less than two minutes later.
Earlier in the game, Wisdom worked his way into the offensive zone and drew an interference penalty.

Wisdom now has points in three straight games and in five of his last six games. In fact, all of his nine points this season have come in the last six games. He has six goals and three assists in that span, and two goals and two assists in his last three games.
Among the league leaders, Wisdom is tied for 14th in points (9) and fifth in goals (6). Only the 2020 13th overall pick, Seth Jarvis, has more goals than Wisdom among AHL rookies.
Wisdom has had a tremendous start to his professional hockey career.
