Sean Couturier

Philadelphia Flyers first-line center Sean Couturier was a late scratch for Saturday night’s game on Long Island. Couturier was expected to play and skated during warmups, but the Flyers announced that he would miss the game.

Here is the official press release from the Flyers:

“Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier is out of the lineup tonight at NY Islanders with a lower-body injury.”

Couturier missed time earlier this season with a rib injury. He has 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 18 games this season for the Flyers.

Here are the Flyers lines without Couturier:

James van Riemsdyk – Scott Laughton – Joel Farabee
Michael Raffl – Kevin Hayes – Jakub Voracek
Oskar Lindblom – Claude Giroux – Travis Konecny
Carsen Twarynski – Nolan Patrick – Nicolas Aube-Kubel

Hopefully, this is just a minor injury for Couturier. The Flyers looked out of sorts when he was out of the lineup.

Couturier is an extremely important player for the Flyers; perhaps their most valuable player. He plays in all situations and is the reigning Selke Trophy Winner.

Stay tuned for updates regarding Sean Couturier’s status.
