The Philadelphia Flyers were at the end of another embarrassing loss. It’s been a frustrating month in an even more infuriating season for the Orange and Black. In the final minutes of an 8-3 loss to the Rangers, Sam Morin took out some of that frustration on Brendan Lemieux.

Chuck Fletcher and the Flyers need to preserve their dignity in a lost season

Sam Morin gave Lemieux a cross-check before knocking him to the ice with two punches. The first one connected pretty well, knocking Lemieux off-balance, and Morin’s second blow took the Ranger to the ice.

Those were two pretty good shots Morin got in on Lemieux.

Lemieux has had his run-ins with the Flyers over the years.

It’s been a tough month for the Flyers. They haven’t shown much life recently and while it was another bad loss, it was nice to see someone on the ice show their frustration.

Sam Morin has also had a rough season, going from defenseman to winger and back to defenseman, all while bouncing between the NHL and AHL as well. This was his first NHL game this season as a defenseman and he wanted to make the most of it.

The Flyers have performed poorly against the Rangers recently. They lost 9-0 last week and got beat 8-3 on Thursday night at home. They have been outscored by the Rangers 21-5 in their last eight periods of regulation play. Hopefully, Morin’s fight will give the Flyers some life and set the tone for the rematch on Saturday afternoon.
