Carter Hart, Philadelphia Flyers

Just when it looked like Carter Hart was finding his game, the young goalie is out with a lower-body injury. The Philadelphia Flyers announced that Hart will miss Saturday’s game due to a lower-body injury.

Hart was expected to start against the Captals with Alex Lyon backing him up. The plan was for Brian Elliott to get an off day before starting Sunday night. Instead, Lyon is starting today with Elliott as his backup.

Hopefully, this is just a minor issue for Hart. He played well in his last few games and looked confident in the crease, for the most part.

Hart is 9-11-5 with a 3.67 goals against average and .877 save percentage on the season. In April, he is 1-2-2 with a .910 SV% (122 saves on 134 shots) in five starts.

This will be Alex Lyon’s first NHL start since February 1st of last year when he made 28 saves on 31 shots in a win against the Avalanche. He made a relief appearance this year in Buffalo, making nine saves on 10 shots on March 31st.
