WATCH: Tyson Foerster snipes two goals in Phantoms win

The Philadelphia Flyers didn’t play too well on Friday night, but their most recent first-round pick did. Tyson Foerster, the 23rd overall pick from the 2020 NHL Draft, had yet another two-goal game on Friday night. He scored the Phantoms’ first two goals of the game in a 4-2 win against the Binghamton Devils.

Foerster has found his footing at the professional level. His two-goal game on Friday night was his third two-goal game in the last five contests. He has eight points (six goals, two assists) in that span.

The two goals scored by Foerster on Friday night displayed how good of a shot the 18-year-old forward has.

Foerster opened the scoring in the game with a power-play goal. Egor Zamula entered the zone and fed a pass to Chris Mueller. Foerster then received a cross-ice pass from Mueller, settled the puck, and wired a shot past Gilles Senn.

Foerster has one of the best shots in the 2020 draft class and he showed it on this goal.

After Binghamton tied it with a power-play goal of their own, Foerster struck again.

It was a 1-1 game in the final minute of the first period when Foerster scored his second. This time Foerster won a battle and had solid positioning to force the Devils into an ill-advised pass.

Foerster stepped up and allowed Zamula to keep the puck in at the blue line. The defenseman sent the puck to Cal O’Rielly, who quickly found Foerster across the ice. The goalie was down and out, and Foerster took advantage.

Senn still had some of the net covered and Foerster made sure to beat him with the shot.

The goal gave the Phantoms a 2-1 lead heading into the first intermission.

The Phantoms won the game 4-2 with those two goals from Foerster and two more goals from Andy Andreoff, who also had a fight.

Tyson Foerster recorded 13 points (eight goals, five assists) in his first 15 AHL games. All of those 13 points came in his last 13 games, including 12 points in his last 10 games and nine points in his last six games. The 18-year-old forward is making the most of the unusual circumstances that are allowing him to play in the AHL.
