Flyers hoping COVID ‘reset’ helps Travis Konency regain his much-needed scoring touch (+)

Philadelphia Flyers right winger Travis Konecny has been stuck on 99 goals for nearly two months, but he says he isn’t pressing as he attempts to get his milestone tally.

The scoring slump — no goals in his last 18 games — is “just a coincidence” that it happened as he tried to get to 100 goals, said Konecny, whose last score was Nov. 18 against Tampa Bay.

“To be honest, when I started sliding and wasn’t scoring, it was probably six or seven games when I found out that I was (shooting) for my 100th goal,” Konecny said after practice Wednesday as the Flyers prepared to play in Boston Thursday night. “So I don’t think it really had anything to do with it.”

Konecny said his 100th goal “will be just like the 99 before. There’s no significance to it. Obviously, I’m gripping it a little bit right now. I think for me, it’s just important that I’m trying to get my game back to where it needs to be in
