The Philadelphia Flyers, who were playing their best hockey of the season, came down to Earth on Monday afternoon.

They fell to the best-in-the-NHL Boston Bruins, 6-0, and were handed just their second loss in their last nine games. It was their most lopsided defeat of the season.

Forget about the loss and move on. That was the message in the Flyers’ locker room after the game. Most players said they were happy to play again so quickly — Tuesday night against Anaheim at the Wells Fargo Center.

By the way, there was an entertaining “hot mic” moment from Nick Foligno after the Boston Bruins’ forward mixed it up with the Flyers’ Travis Konecny. It’s here.

Meanwhile, trade talks are starting to get more intense as the March 3 deadline inches closer. Montreal center Sean Monahan, 28, continues to draw interest from Colorado as it tries to successfully defend its Stanley Cup title.
