The New York Islanders are going all-in.

They made a bold move Monday by acquiring star center Bo Horvat from the Vancouver Canucks for Anthony Beauvillier (nine goals), promising rookie Aatu Raty (two goals in 12 games), and a conditional first-round pick in the 2023 draft.

The 2023 draft pick is top-12 protected. If the Islanders finish with a draft pick in the top 12, the Canucks would instead get their first-round selection in 2024.

Horvat, 27, has 31 goals in 49 games. He will jump-start the Isles’ awful attack. Horvat is in the final season of a six-year, $33 million deal ($5.5 million annual cap hit), but the Islanders are hoping to sign him to an extension.

The Islanders (25-22-6) are two points behind Pittsburgh for the Eastern Conference’s final wild-card spot.

The Philadelphia Flyers, meanwhile, are expected to be sellers, not buyers, before the March 3 trade deadline. They are six points out of a playoff spot.

Draft expert Russ Cohen explored some rising players in the 2023 draft who could be attractive to the Flyers.
