Flyers’ Defensive Prospect Added to AHL All-Star Team

One Lehigh Valley defenseman is out. Another Phantoms defenseman is in.

Ronnie Attard has replaced Cam York on the AHL All-Star team, the league announced Saturday.

Attard will join teammate Tyson Foerster on the Atlantic Division roster for the AHL All-Star Classic, which will be held Sunday and Monday in Laval, Quebec. The skills competition is Sunday, the All-Star tourney Monday.

York had been named an All-Star, but was ruled ineligible because he has since been promoted to the Philadelphia Flyers.

Attard, 23, a third-round draft selection in in 2019, has seven goals and 18 points in 42 games this season. A former Western Michigan standout, the righthanded-shooting Attard played in 15 games with the Philadelphia Flyers last season and collected a pair of goals and two assists.

Foerster, 21, a first-round pick in 2020, has 16 goals and 29 points in 43 AHL games this season. He is regarded as one of the Flyers’ top prospects.

York, 22, had 13 points (3-10) in 20 games with the Phantoms this season. A first-round selection in the 2019 draft, York has been one of the Philadelphia Flyers’ best defensemen since being recalled, collecting11 points (1-10) in 24 games and a plus-10 rating. Wade Alison leads the Flyers at plus-11.
