An NHL team is showing interest in Philadelphia Flyers forward Kevin Hayes, and the New Islanders signed recently acquired center Bo Horvat to an eight-year, $68 million contract that carries an $8.5 million annual cap hit.

“It’s too long and it’s too much money,” cracked Lou Lamoriello, the Isles general manager and the man who negotiated the deal.
