The Philadelphia Flyers on Monday showed just how much they like goalie Sam Ersson’s potential.

They recalled Ersson, and they will carry three goalies on their upcoming four-game road trip to Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

In six appearances with the Flyers, Ersson (5-0) has shown more promise than Felix Sandstrom (1-8-1). It should be noted however, that Sandstrom has made most of his starts in the second half of back-to-back games, with a tied team in front of him.

Look for Ersson to start one of the back-to-back games in Calgary or Edmonton. Carter Hart figures to make the other three starts on the trip.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Coyotes could be on the verge of trading defenseman Jakob Chychrun. Fearing he could get injured, they have decided to scratch him for all games this week.

He did not play in Monday’s surprising 4-2 win in Nashville. It was Arizona’s first road victory in 19 games.

Chrychrun was first scratched for trade-related reasons Saturday against St. Louis.
