The Philadelphia Flyers will try to slow down the surging Florida Panthers on Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Panthers are riding a seven-game point streak (6-0-1), and they have climbed into a playoff spot.

Philly (25-32-12) is rested, while Florida (36-27-7) is playing its second game in as many nights. The Panthers won in Detroit on Monday, 5-2, as Aleksander “Sasha” Barkov became the all-time leading scorer in franchise history.

With the win, Florida moved into a playoff spot for the first time in nearly a month, slipping a point ahead of Pittsburgh for the final Eastern Conference wild card.

The Flyers collected three of a possible four points over their last two games, beating Buffalo, 5-2, and losing in overtime to Carolina, 5-4. In the latter game, the Hurricanes tied it with three-tenths of a second left in regulation, then won early in the overtime.

The Flyers and Panthers split a pair of 4-3 decisions in October. This is their first meeting since the Flyers’ 4-3 win on Oct. 27. Carter Hart made 48 saves, and Joel Farabee had a goal and an assist in that victory.
