The Philadelphia Flyers and St. Louis Blues, two teams that are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, will move a game closer to ending their seasons when they meet Tuesday night at the Enterprise Center.

The Flyers (29-34-13) are used to missing the playoffs. This is the third straight season they haven’t reached the post-season.

St. Louis (35-35-7), on the other hand, won’t be a playoff participant for the first time since 2017-18. The Blues had qualified in 10 of the last 11 seasons, and won the Stanley Cup in 2019.

Craig Berube’s Blues have received poor goaltending from Jordan Binnington (3.39 GAA, .891 SP) and Thomas Greiss (3.64, .896), and they are 28th in the NHL with a 3.68 GAA.

The Flyers never recovered from injuries that sidelined Sean Couturier, Cam Atkinson, and Ryan Ellis for the entire season.

St. Louis has five games remaining, while the Flyers have six.

As it currently stands, the Flyers (71 points) have the NHL’s seventh-worst record, while the Blues and Washington each have 77 points and are tied for the ninth-worst mark.

The Flyers are expected to have defenseman Ronnie Attard in their lineup for the first time this season.

Before the game, the Blues will not wear Pride-themed jerseys during warmups on Pride Night. Minnesota, the Rangers and Chicago also did not wear them on their Pride Nights. Some individual players, including the Flyers’ Ivan Provorov, did not participate in Pride Night warmups in which their teammates wore the themed jerseys.
