Carson Briere Dismissed from College Hockey Team

Carson Briere, 23, has been dismissed from the Mercyhurst University hockey team after a video showed him and another athlete form the school pushing a wheelchair down the steps at a downtown Erie bar.

The wheelchair was unoccupied at the time of the March 11 incident.

Briere, a junior center, is the son of Danny Briere, the Philadelphia Flyers’ interim general manager.

The younger Briere issued a public apology for the incident. He was previously dismissed from Arizona State’s team for a violation of team rules.

Briere had 13 points in 30 games this season.
