In Saturday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, NHL news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

For those of you who might have been hoping he would come back, Denis Gurianov will not be returning to the Philadelphia Flyers and has instead returned home to Russia, signing a two-year deal with CSKA Moscow on Thursday.

On paper, Gurianov would have been a (the?) player who played mostly in the AHL and helped give a player like Alexei Kolosov a bit of a comfort level, similarly to how he did with Ivan Fedotov at the end of last season. But, Egor Zamula has been re-signed, and Slava Kuznetsov is still around, too.

Especially after he hardly played for the Flyers after coming over in the trade with Nashville, it’s hard to fault Gurianov for having grander aspirations for his playing career, rather than serving as a glorified translator who gets paid well. He got some power play time, but the Flyers didn’t seem too interested in his game to the point where they gave him a real, adequate trial run. It is what it is.

NHL News

This isn’t totally surprising, given that Dillon Dube has already done the same, but former New Jersey Devils forward Michael McLeod has signed overseas, agreeing to a one-year deal with Kazakhstan-based KHL club Barys Astana.

Dube and McLeod, so far, are the only two players charged with sexual assault in connection to the 2018 Hockey Canada incident to have signed new contracts to further their professional playing careers. It’s unclear under what conditions the two were able to travel overseas, but either way, the charges levied against them and the other three players have not been proven in court.

Speaking of the other players, I wonder what this means for former Flyers goalie Carter Hart. The last we heard was that he and his agent weren’t seeking out KHL clubs, but I guess we’ll see if the Dube and McLeod signings change their minds.

Dube, Hart, McLeod, and Cal Foote weren’t issued qualifying offers, and the Flyers wanted to leave the decision on Hart to the NHL before the qualifying offer deadline. It’s a fascinating situation, to say the least.

Hart would be wise to sign a one-year deal also…..needs to play hockey at a competitive level…and the only place like that outside North America is the KHL. Once this whole mess is done with, he may be able to get an offer or two from a NHL team.

List three Flyers in top 100.

For keeper leagues I’d draft michkov first . Whoever ends up on pp#1 as the sniper eventually will get the max points and naturally take others points away

i would also draft Jamie drysdale for fantasy . For points . He’s not hedman or Pietrangelo size wise for the #1 but it’s the only position on defense I don’t need size(top pair #1 quarterback ) . I want the other 5 guys to be as big as possible on defense with length and reach

No one cares

I played high school goalie and ncaa goalie . Taking a year off is almost impossible at the nhl level .

I don’t know what to say about Carter hart . I wouldn’t have been there period and if something was happening like that I woulda physically stopped it back in day no matter who it was .

mcleod and the rest of them are losers . I don’t want them on our team here in Philly even if they were present . There is a time to be a man . That fraternity mentality Never flied with me

one dumb decision and your career is wrecked after all that work . At least he didn’t die like Lindbergh’s dumb decision

U r not Carter Hart

I think Russia is behind the sex scandle! They keep losing all of their top players to the NHL. So they need players to replenish their stables So with the scandal they get some good talent in return. Through in D’Angelo and you have one messed up line! LOL Hell we got any other players we need to get rid of? Throw them in there too so we can get better players in return! You know I’m laughing my ass off while I’m writing this don’t you???
