With Sunday being a bit of a slower day for me personally, I decided to share a little tidbit I heard about a Philadelphia Flyers prospect, Jack Berglund, back in July.
It’s a fun one and offers a bit of hope and insight for the future, but you’ll have to subscribe to unlock it! We just ran a pretty successful sale that just ended, but you can still use code “Jon10” to save yourself some cash at checkout. We’ll have plenty of more exclusive content at the end of this month and throughout the season, so get your stocks while you can.
Here’s the link to subscribe if you’re willing to support us but missed the big sale this time around.
Also, in case you missed yesterday’s Bailey’s Daily, we talked a little bit about Flyers rookie Matvei Michkov and his family joining up with him and Egor Zamula in Philadelphia before the start of training camp and the NHL preseason.
NHL News
In a trade that most certainly came out of left field, the San Jose Sharks traded young defenseman Ty Emberson to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for defenseman Cody Ceci–a cap dump–and a third-round pick.
But why was such a trade controversial? Well, Sharks GM Mike Grier is helping out his old boss, Stan Bowman, who recently took the Oilers’ GM job, and didn’t really get too much value in return for doing so. It was a pretty bad deal for San Jose.
Plus, Emberson is only 24 years old and can be a half-decent No. 5 or No. 6 defenseman in the right environment. The Oilers are going to be exactly that environment, especially considering that playing with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will greatly aid Emberson’s offensive game.
So, all in all, the Sharks didn’t make a good trade at all, but they’ve managed to accumulate more talent during their rebuild than the Flyers have.
People were mad 😡 at the rangers dump to sharks as well. I like the rangers guy for playoffs they dumped but I guess rangers maybe making room for Kadri eventually because they need an in front of net scoring center .
the guy rangers dumped is a good 3rd and 4th liner for playoffs had a few big goals this year in playoffs . But same type of thing . San Jose is the new flyers taking on ryan ellis contracts so others can compete
so ceci is odd man out . Maybe broberg stays?
Barclay goodrow is guy rangers dumped to sharks . Cap shananigans . I expect we get help when we are ready in 2-3 years
