In Tuesday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, NHL news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

So, maybe Alexei Kolosov wants a return to the KHL to play for Dinamo Minsk rather than returning to the Philadelphia Flyers. Reports have now confirmed that the Flyers prospect is now represented by Dan Milstein after switching away from J.P. Barry and CAA Sports.

Honestly, who really knows what Kolosov is thinking and wants for himself? Flyers general manager Danny Briere said on the “Nasty Knuckles” podcast that simply picking up the phone and calling the Belarusian goaltender isn’t practical, since he doesn’t speak any English.

That responsibility is now left to Milstein after the change.

Subsequently, some Flyers fans wondered about the feasibility of trading for disgruntled Nashville Predators goalie prospect Yaroslav Askarov, who reportedly has requested a trade and will refuse to play in the AHL for another season.

It would take a lot, and perhaps much more than the Flyers would be willing to pay, but the risk is worth the potential reward in the end. You can’t rebuild a bottom feeder into a Stanley Cup contender without taking risks.

NHL News

Perhaps the biggest NHL news of the day was the Montreal Canadiens’ heist of the Columbus Blue Jackets, securing sniper 6-foot-5 sniper Patrik Laine AND a 2026 second-round pick (with no salary retention) in exchange for young depth defenseman Jordan Harris.

Harris was a good player for the Canadiens, but he really wasn’t more than a No. 5 or No. 6 defenseman on an average team. Maybe he’ll have the opportunity to do more in Columbus, but he’s all the Blue Jackets are getting with no retention on Laine’s $8.7 million cap hit.

As for the Habs, Laine joins a stacked young forward group that already includes Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Juraj Slafkovsky. The jury is still out on players like Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook, but the Canadiens are building a really solid team on paper.

Consider the names mentioned above alongside Ivan Demidov, Jacob Fowler, Michael Hage, Lane Hutson, David Reinbacher, Luke Tuch, Owen Beck, Joshua Roy, Filip Mesar, and others. The defense still needs more work, but that’s how you rebuild right there.

Rumors have it Sharks want Preds’ Askarov…Preds want a 1st round pick…Danny B ought to trade Kolosov to the Sharks for a 2nd round pick in 2025…that pick will probably be around the 35th pick. Danny….strike while the iron is hot.

Kirby dach and Laine for montreal in recent years . Laine has head issues or something else going on . I always feared for Kirby dach on blackhawks . He took some brutal hits .

last time i saw dach they had him on wing , trying to convert him to power wing

don’t know what to make of Laine . If I was close to a cup I would stay away . But if he can somehow get it all together I guess it’s a work in progress. Feels like Laine and drouin have same issues revolving around the head
