Flyers’ Matvei Michkov NHL 25 Rating Revealed: First Look
Fans hoping to use Philadelphia Flyers rookie sensation Matvei Michkov in EA Sports NHL 25 are in luck – the 19-year-old is, in fact, on the game’s default roster this year.
Prominent NHL YouTuber and content creator TacTixHD revealed on Wednesday afternoon that Michkov was included on the Flyers’ opening roster, albeit with a grey silhouette headshot, showcasing Michkov’s rating in the game for the first time by extension.
Michkov’s first-ever official rating in the EA Sports NHL franchise is 82 overall out of a maximum of 99 overall. For comparison’s sake, San Jose Sharks rookie Macklin Celebrini, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, was also rated an 82.

Chicago Blackhawks star Connor Bedard, last year’s No. 1 overall pick, was rated an 88 heading into his sophomore season in the NHL. In 2023, Michkov was considered by some to be equal to or just under Bedard in terms of talent, but nonsensical external factors ultimately sent Michkov down draft boards and into the Flyers’ laps.
For fans who enjoy playing the NHL franchise’s Franchise mode, Michkov was given a Potential of High Elite, which simply means that he is highly likely to become an elite player. Likelihoods scale from low to medium to high, while the next step up from Elite Potential is Franchise Potential.
Some of the Flyers rookie’s standout attributes from his base 82 rating include 88 wrist shot power, 87 slap shot power, 90 offensive awareness, 89 deking, 88 passing, 88 agility, 87 puck control, and 86 speed.
However, those who have watched Michkov’s early performances for the Flyers know that the 75 balance and 80 poise ratings are inaccurate by a good distance. Would you believe me if I told you Michkov’s wrist shot and slap shot accuracy ratings were both only 79?
There’s a good chance a lot of these numbers jump up by the end of the Flyers’ 2024-25 season. Since the game has not been officially released yet, these ratings are subject to change.
EA Sports NHL 25 will drop on Oct. 4 and can be pre-ordered on your console of choice here.
No pressure from me his rookie year . The time is his next 2 years !!
