Emil Andrae Injury Status and Update Ahead of Flyers vs. Avalanche
The injury bug continues to bite the Philadelphia Flyers at disadvantageous times. The status of standout rookie defenseman Emil Andrae, who was injured in Saturday’s 5-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres, is currently unclear.
Andrae, 22, missed the final half of the third period against the Sabres after suffering an undisclosed injury. If the young Swedish defenseman is truly injured and unavailable for Monday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche, the Flyers will not have the six healthy defensemen they need to ice a full lineup.
Cam York, who is on injured reserve, has practiced in a normal jersey and taken full contact in three consecutive practices. He could be an option to play against the Avalanche on Monday.

“I’m not sure,” Flyers associate coach Brad Shaw said of Andrae’s availability vs. the Avalanche. “I don’t know anything about any injuries.”
Flyers captain Sean Couturier, starting goalie Sam Ersson, and Andrae were all missing from Sunday’s noon practice at Flyers Training Center.
Defenseman Jamie Drysdale, also on injured reserve, practiced with the team for the first time since suffering his upper-body injury in a blue non-contact jersey. He is expected to miss at least one more week.
Andrae has three assists in 10 games with the Flyers this season and is averaging 18:27 of ice time a game, fifth amongst Flyers defensemen.
