Philadelphia Flyers
Flyers Game 53, Tsyplakov vs. Philly; Lines, Notes, and How to Watch vs. Islanders

The Philadelphia Flyers (23-23-6, 52 PTS) are back at home Thursday night as they host the New York Islanders (22-20-7, 51 PTS) at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Flyers are coming off an embarrassing loss Wednesday night to the New Jersey Devils on a night where nothing could go right for Philly. The Islanders, on the other hand, are on a five-game winning streak. New York has won every game they have played since their first matchup with the Flyers earlier in the month.
Puck drop is at 7:30 P.M. EST.

Maxim Tsyplakov’s First Game vs. Flyers Since
In his second game back from suspension, Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov will face the Flyers. The significance? He was suspended for his hit against the Flyers’ Ryan Poehling, who has yet to return from the injury sustained.
Philly is coming off an emotional matchup against the Devils on Wednesday night, It would not surprise me in the slightest if emotions remain high with Tsyplakov on the ice tonight.
No Tippett?
The Flyers will likely be without Owen Tippett, who has yet to miss a game this season. The Flyers’ top-line left-winger has 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 total points this season. He is third on the Flyers in points this season. Losing Tippett, despite the lackluster numbers, will be a big hit to the Flyers production.
Who fills in for Tippett? We won’t really know until warmups, as there was no morning skate on Thursday. The Flyers currently have Rodrigo Abols on the roster, but out of the lineup, and Ryan Poehling is still on the IR.
It is an educated guess, but I would expect Abols to draw in as the fourth-line center and Scott Laughton back to the left wing. As to who plays on the top-line, that is still unknown.
Previous Matchup
The Flyers and Islanders have seen each other twice in January, with Thursday marking the third meeting between the two teams.
The Flyers won the first bout 5-3, with Joel Farabee had himself a big night in the first one. Tyson Foerster scored a quick and beautiful goal to open up the first matchup, but that was all that would happen for the Flyers as the Islanders took game 2 3-1.
After Thursday’s tilt, the two teams will not see each other until mid-April, when the season is nearly over.
