Starstruck

The Dallas Stars have constructed quite the team.

Dallas boasts a talented roster full of “stars” of all ages–Wyatt Johnston, a rising star; Jamie Benn, a former star (still is); and Mikko Rantanen, a current star. That is just scratching the surface.

That is not even looking at their blueline group. Even without Miro Heiskanen, they are still an elite group.

The Stars are a deep team. There is a reason they are one of the best teams in the NHL.

It will be a tough task keeping that talent quiet.

Can The Flyers Build Off Thursday?

The Flyers played 40 minutes of awful hockey but followed it with 20 minutes of some of the best hockey they’ve played all year.

It is difficult and unlikely to match Thursday’s third-period intensity. However, keeping one of the best offenses in the league quiet was mightily impressive, and the Flyers’ offensive output was solid. There is a lot to build on from Thursday’s game.

The Flyers were aggressive in the late minutes of Thursday’s game. They’ll have to build on that and continue to play hard if they want to beat this Dallas team.

Previous Matchups

The Flyers have struggled against Dallas in the last 10 meetings. Their record against the Stars is 2-7-1.

Travis Konecny has been the Flyers’ leading point scorer over that span, scoring four goals and four assists for eight points in 10 games. Owen Tippett is next on the list, with two goals and two assists in five games against Dallas.

Not Offsides

How to Watch: With a couple Southern Comfort Manhattans.

I would like to see them give Nikita Grebenkin a look (acquired in the Laughton deal). Can’t be worse than Abols or Lycksell, and if he’s as good as this video edit, it will be a great acquisition.

Romus

How he lasted to the 5th round, 135th pick in the 2022 draft is a mystery and puzzling.
Wonder what the scouts saw in him or what they did not see in him.
