Philadelphia Flyers
UPDATE: Tocchet Linked to Flyers, Again

After TSN’s Darren Dreger reported that Rick Tocchet is nearing a coaching decision, and that the Flyers are aggressive, another insider has joined the party.
ESPN’s John Buccigross used his patented reporting style to share his inklings on the Philadelphia Flyers and Tocchet.
Reporter or not, Buccigross is well connected in the NHL, and his reports should be taken with more than just a grain of salt.
Weeks before the move was made official, Buccigross made a report in his trademarked style liking Joel Quenneville to the Ducks. The move has since became official.
The Flyers have been long linked to Tocchet, including by Buccigross himself.
Buccigross has said he likes Tocchet to Philly, if he wants it.
That would go along with Elliote Friedman’s earlier report that Tocchet has been interviewing teams, not the other way around.
Rick Tocchet to the Flyers has made a lot of sense for a long time. It seems as if Tocchet to Philly is hitting its final stages.

Big mistake if it’s true. The Flyers don’t need another alumni. They also don’t need a head coach who has zero experience with grooming younger players.
Ferschweiler would be my top choice and I’d rather even bring in a few of the other choices mentioned than bring in a retread alumni
Agreed and not just the alumni part he only pretty much had one good season. Exactly they need a guy to help rebuild and player development. Ferschweiler is top choice to but others after him also.
Agree with the two comments,of course love tocchet the player and glad he has had success in his career, but we have been down this long road before with ex flyers players coaching the team.
I am afraid Ferschweiler could be the next college- to- pro Dave Hakstol. I prefer Jeff Halpern from the Bolts.
Hakstol never had nhl experience in coaching before the flyers though , Ferschweiler had 4 years with the wings so it’s not completely new to him. I would be fine with halpern too. Just want the flyers to show this FO is different and willing to try different things.
Nooooooooo!
Start the carousel again. In three years or less, we’ll be hiring another new coach and a GM also. I thought for once that they were changing.
Try before the next All-Star break, brah.
It’s funny someone downvoted everyone here … we got a die hard Tocchet lover in the house lol
It was probably Briere or Jones.
