Draft season is upon us, and now that the Flyers have officially named their head coach, the focus can shift to the draft.

Now that the NHL Draft Lottery has been conducted and the order is set, draft experts have been releasing their mock drafts.

Draft season can be fun because you really don’t know what any NHL team is going to do, Flyers included.

Cam Robinson-Elite Prospects ($)

Cam Robinson is a reliable source for information on the NHL draft and prospects. He recently mocked the first round of the 2025 draft, including all three first-round picks.

In Robinson’s 2025 Mock Draft, he has the Flyers selecting a center, a defender, and a goalie — a pick for each level of the game. Here is who he had the Flyers selecting:

Pick No. 6- James Hagens, C, Boston College (NCAA)

This would be the start of a fantastic day one for the Flyers. Hagens sliding to six would be cause for celebration. While the draft is widely seen as a six-player draft, there is still an upper echelon of players, even within that group of six. In my eyes, Hagens is one of them.

Pick No. 22- Blake Fiddler, RHD, Edmonton (WHL)

Adding Fiddler late in round one is a massive get for the Flyers, literally and figuratively. Fiddler is 6’4″, but is an extremely smooth skater. A July birthday, Fiddler is one of the younger blueliners in the draft.

Pick No. 31- Joshua Ravensbergen, G, Prince George (WHL)

The Flyers need a goalie, and Ravensbergen is widely regarded as the best in the draft. In Robinson’s mock, he has the Flyers drafting a forward, a defenseman, and a goalie all in the first round, evenly spreading the wealth.

Check out the rest of Robinson’s picks by following the link.

The Athletic ($)

Corey Pronman, Scott Wheeler, and Max Blutman played GM in The Athletic’s recent mock draft, as the three each rotated picks, selecting for teams. Here is how it played out for the Flyers:

Pick No. 6- Porter Martone, RW, Brampton (OHL)

Similarly with Robinson’s mock, the Flyers draft room should be jumping for joy if Martone falls into their lap on draft day. Martone is a power forward whose skills make him much more than that. A combination of skill, power, and checking ability could make him an NHL staple for years to come.

Pick No. 22- Cullen Potter, C/LW, Arizona State (NCAA)

The Athletic trio gets a little risky with the Cullen Potter pick, but I can’t say I entirely hate it. With Braeden Cootes and Jack Nesbitt off the board already, Potter is the best center available in this situation. He’s a high-risk, high-reward player, but with late first-round picks, that’s not a bad thing.

Pick No. 29- Daniil Prokhorov, LW, St. Petersburg (MHL)

Prokhorov, in all honesty, is a prospect I do not know a whole lot about. What I can say is massive. A 6’5″ winger who can score is quite impressive. This mock draft has the Flyers drafting big forwards, with a smaller forward in the middle.

Here is the link to the rest of The Athletic’s mock draft.

TSN’s Craig Button

TSN’s Craig Button is always a name to watch come draft season. Last season, he was just about the only one to nail the Flyers’ relatively shocking selection of Jett Luchanko. Button has the Flyers making an equally shocking selection.

No. 6- Brady Martin, C, Soo (OHL)

Like Luchanko was this time last year, Martin has been a late riser. From the sounds of it, Martin is already a Flyer. He is a grinding forward who plays fast and hard, like a human bowling ball. The Flyers have been searching for physicality, and Martin would bring that.

Maybe Button was a one-hit wonder with the Luchanko prediction, or maybe he will strike twice in a row if the Flyers draft another late riser.

Here is the rest of Button’s mock draft.

NHL.com

While the NHL mock drafts are a bit older, NHL.com writers Adam Kimelman and Mike Morreale each made a selection for every lottery pick.

Kimelman: Pick No. 6- Roger McQueen, C, Brandon (WHL)

McQueen’s injury history is holding him back from being a surefire top-five pick. He is a massive, 6’5″ center who is a solid play driver, has a good scoring touch, and is a fantastic power-play player. He is a risk, but I can see where Kimelman is coming from. However, I would not touch McQueen with No. 6.

Morreale: Pick No. 6- Kashawn Aitcheson, LD, Barrie (OHL)

This pick is interesting to me. Aitcheson is a great player, but picking him at six is a big reach. I mentioned earlier that this is an older mock draft. However, when it comes to Aitcheson, nothing has changed. He is still an outside the top-10 prospect.

The bigger thing that was interesting in this is that both analysts had the Flyers passing on guys like Porter Martone, Anton Frondell, and Caleb Desnoyers. Interesting to stay the least. To check out the rest of the picks, check out the NHL.com mock draft.

I dont know, i think they really have to go big again, with Koneckny, Michkov, Brink, and Pelletier, being sub six footers, we are far from the Florida template. And where is Denver Barkey ever supposed to fit in?

Rob

If Hagens falls to 6th that would be a fantastic get for the Flyers. Why in God’s name are you worried about Brink, Pelletier or Barkey they aren’t close to Hagens. But yeah they need to get bigger. It doesn’t have to be with this pick if you’re getting a polished playmaker great on his edges like Hagens. That said I get your concerns but Hagens is a potential 1C . Oh and I love Brady Martin. My ideal would be Hagens or Martone and then a move to trade up for Martin. But it might not be possible.
Hagens, Martin and Michkov would be a dream line.

5by5

Like Charlie said Martin will probably end up on wing in the NHL and unlike luchanko who was very young , good skater and good hockey IQ which Martin doesn’t have. Flyers seem to bank on more runway in development from luchanko’s late birthday. The 6th pick is a whole different story. These ppl just see “big hitter” equals flyer. Same thing they did with aitcheson, snarl = flyer . Those two are huge reach’s at 6. 6 is too high for McQueen with his early birthday and injury history. I wouldn’t mind using 2 later firsts and trade up for any of them but I think you could also find some great players later on with picks if we don’t trade up from the 20s or from 6. some of these scouts have us passing up on des , frondell or martone, wildly even one guy had us passing up on hagens for a reach, which would just be crazy to do.

Rob

I would take Brady Martin in a heartbeat. The Flyers need forecheckers and Martin is a playmaker and goal scorer. Just go watch his 230 checks video on youtube. He is not just an old school Flyer type. He is more than that. He is a clean checker, a farmboy and he loves the big games.
However, I personally like Martone, Hagens and O’Brien a little more. If they could somehow get one of them and move up for Martin, that would be a bit of a coup for the Flyers and a BIG step for the team.
