Flyers Star Reportedly to Play in KHL All-Star Event

Published

on

Flyers star forward Matvei Michkov is reportedly set to play in a KHL All-Star Event, the “Match of the Year”. The event will take place on July 13th at CSKA Arena in Moscow, Russia.

Michkov will join a list of Russian NHL stars as they head back to Russia to take on the KHL’s best in an All-Star clash. Proceeds from the event will be donated to charity.

While the event is likely not NHL-sanctioned, some of the league’s biggest stars will be joining Michkov in Moscow on July 13th. Per Hockey News Hub on X, Alexander Ovechkin, Andrei Svechnikov, Kirill Kaprizov, Igor Shesterkin, and Sergei Bobrovsky are among the reported names playing in the game. Artemi Panarin and Mikhail Sergachev, last year’s organizers, are also set to play.

The best of the Russian NHL players will take on the KHL’s all-star team.

Busy Offseason for Michkov

The reported KHL vs NHL all-star game is just another piece of Matvei Michkov’s busy offseason.

Earlier in the offseason, Michkov was involved in a car accident while on vacation in Dubai. It resulted in the star player being extorted for a large sum of cash. After legal action was taken against the car rental company, Michkov was given his passport back and was cleared of any wrongdoing.

During his exit interviews, Michkov told the media that he would be heading home to see family back in Russia this offseason.

It appears that Michkov is already in Russia. A viral Instagram story from the player himself surfaced, showing him swimming near a bear.

If the reports that Michkov will be playing in the “Match of the Year” remain true, it seems as if the star rookie will stay in Russia for a bit longer before returning to the Philadelphia area.

The Russian bear better not be poked.

B. C.

Just please don’t get injured.

Ya know most guys would go swimming with their girlfriend or their family but not our boy Michkov. He swims with bears! If that doesn’t tell you he has steel nads nothing will. Now we know why he didn’t get injured this season. I wonder if that will earn him the nickname the Russian bear? Then throw in the fact he’s playing hockey in the Russian All Star game when he doesn’t have to. If your not loving this guy you’re stupid!
