Flyers 2025 NHL Draft Prospects: Porter Martone

Published

on

Porter Martone is an unbelievable talent. If he is available, come the No. 6 overall pick, the Philadelphia Flyers are going to have some tough choices.

The top six, assuming no crazy shocks, will go Schaefer and Misa in some order, No. 1 and No. 2. They will likely be followed by some combination of Desnoyers, Frondell, Hagens, and Martone. That should, in theory, leave the Flyers with at least one of the six “premier” in the draft, even though there are certainly two tiers.

Of course, prospects like Brady Martin and Roger McQueen could sneak their way into the top five or so, which could create a doomsday scenario for the Flyers: Porter Martone and one of the top centers could both be an option at No. 6.

So, what should the Flyers do?

Hear From Porter Marton at the 2025 NHL Draft Combine

The Flyers need a center desperately, but leaving a talent like Martone on the board for Boston to take in a heartbeat could be a dangerous move.

In my opinion, Martone could absolutely be a top-three talent out of this class, and with the right linemates, he could be the top forward out of this class. Oh, and I truly believe that Matvei Michkov is the right linemate.

Martone is one of the smartest players in the draft, with some of the best hands, and an absolute rifle of a shot. He can dial in and shoot with absolute precision. He has NHL size already at 6’3″, 200+ lbs, and he plays with that size.

Martone is a monster waiting to be unleashed, and if on the board, the Flyers need to take him without hesitation.

Now, here is Matt Meagher’s video analysis of the scoring machine from Brampton.

I’d be alright with Martone at 6th.
Another right shot winger to go along with TKo, TF, Tip., and Bobby B.
Perhaps Danny B could move one of the four in a trade
