The Stanley Cup Finals have been absurd!

Welcome to the 6/13 edition of the PhHN Daily!

It has been a beautiful past couple of days down at the Jersey Shore, and I would be lying if I said I did not take advantage of it. I mean, nearly 80 degrees and sunny in early June!?!? This time last year, I swear I was still wearing hoodies, at least in the morning.

Aside from the construction that has constantly been waking me up at 7 AM, I have absolutely no complaints, until the weather gets back to mid-60s, cloudy, and rainy. Summer is almost here.

Back to hockey, the Philadelphia Flyers could find themselves right in the thick of yet another trade rumor. Like many Western Conference teams, one specific squad has made headlines with their trade rumors, and the Flyers could take advantage, but not in the way many have hoped.

Sticking with the Flyers, our Philly Hockey Now YouTube is up and running, and our draft prospect analysis series is alive and well!

The cup finals have been absolutely nuts, and Game 4 was yet another treat! I need Game 5 like a fish needs water.

Lastly, we do a quick little whiparound on the National Hockey Now network and check in on some of our sister sites!

Get it all on the 6/13 edition of the PhHN Daily!

Philadelphia Flyers

Philly Hockey Now: A veteran forward may become available for a cheap cap dump. While the Flyers may not be QUITE ready to take on veteran players to look for improvement, this specific situation might just make sense for the Flyers.

Flyers Draft Prospects: The Flyers need centers, and there are plenty in this draft. One of the best, James Hagens, could fall to the Flyers at No. 6. Check out our video analysis of James Hagens, courtesy of Matt Meagher. Make sure to check out our YouTube channel as well!

Stanley Cup Finals

This series is downright unbelievable.

We have been blessed with a guarantee of at least six games in this magical series. Last night’s Game 4 in Florida has been no exception to this fantastic series.

The Panthers jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead after the first period, with Matthew Tkachuk scoring twice and once from Anton Lundell. The Oilers made a change in goal, swapping Stuart Skinner for Calvin Pickard.

Then, Edmonton answered with a three-goal second period, with scores from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Darnell Nurse, and Vasily Podkolzin.

Jake Walman then gave the Oilers the lead with less than 10 minutes to play in the third period. With time running out, Sam Reinhart evened the game back up with 20 seconds remaining on the clock, and once again, this series was headed for OT–the third time in four games.

Just like Game 1, Leon Draisaitl played hero for Edmonton, scoring the overtime winner.

My oh my, what a series.

National Hockey Now

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Could the Penguins leadership be headed towards a change? Could the former owner be looking to re-acquire the club? Changes could be coming soon in the PGH. Dan Kingerski explains the latest bombshell in Pittsburgh.

Vegas Hockey Now: William Karlsson could have been an interesting trade option for several teams in the NHL. Many NHL teams are searching for a competent 2C, and Karlsson comes at a reasonable price tag and could be a cap casualty. Trade rumors were hot for a few minutes, but it seems like cold water has been poured on the rumors.

New Jersey Devils: When it comes to trade talks with Colorado, all eyes are on Martin Necas. However, James Nichols writes that there are other options that the New Jersey Devils could look at while they take advantage of the cap-strapped Avalanche.
