Flyers 2025 NHL Draft Prospects: Brady Martin

Published

on

Brady Martin is one of the more polarizing prospects in the 2025 NHL Draft. Some fans would love to have him at No. 6, while others dread him being the Flyers’ top choice.

While Martin may not be the flashiest pick the team can make, there is real reason to believe that he could be picked with the No. 6 overall pick. After the Flyers acquired Trevor Zegras from the Anaheim Ducks, the team’s primary need quickly shifted from a skilled, high-end scorer with a high ceiling to a more physical approach.

Martin certainly fits that need for physicality. He is a bowling ball on ice. Brady Martin is a powerful skater who can legitimately hurt someone with how hard he hits, cleanly, might I add.

Playing for the Soo Greyhounds in the OHL, Martin accumulated 72 points with 33 goals and 39 assists. He was also a big beneficiary of the men’s U18s, where he earned 11 points with three goals and eight assists.

Teams reportedly loved Martin as both a player and a person at the combine, and it sent his already skyrocketing stock even further. In fact, according to some sportsbooks, he is the odds-on favorite to be selected by Utah at No. 4.

So, back to the player himself.

Brady Martin Breakdown

Martin is a brute who uses his strength and physicality at the right times – with great power comes great responsibility, and he is responsible.

Offensively, Martin is not a top-10 scorer in this class. However, he still has a decent shot that can have some serious power. While he is not considered to be an elite scorer, he is a true power-play threat with the extra space.

With the physicality, he is also pretty solid in the defensive end. Martin has excellent instincts and can hold down his own.

Lastly, Martin is solid as a playmaker. While I personally don’t see great vision, what I do see in Martin’s game is hard, accurate passes that allow him to set his teammates up, even if he sells where the puck is going.

Would you pick Brady Martin at No. 6?

If Utah does take Brady Martin at 4, then Flyers have a legit shot at one of either three players….. Hagens, Martone or Frondell at 6.

GMAN

It’s been reported that the Flyers and the Bruins both covet Hagens, Martin and O’Brien. All three could possibly be available for the Flyers at six assuming the top five picked are Schaefer, Misa, Desnoyers, Frondell and Martone.
Hagens has the most upside amongst the three of them and the only knock against him is being 5’11”.

Brian McOwen

I would take the ‘farm strong’ boy any day.
He would be playing by 26-27 no doubt and reminds me some of a young Rick Toccett.
