Philadelphia Flyers

Philly Hockey Now: The Philadelphia Flyers took down the defending champs in their home opener, picking up their first win of the season by a score of 5-2. It was a big night for the Flyers. Sean Couturier showed flashes of a player we had not seen in a while, Zegras showcased his skill, and the Flyers got another excellent performance in goal.

Emil Andrae made his return to the NHL after just one game in the AHL, and now his focus is to stick. He is taking things day by day and knows that pressure is a privilege.

NHL Rumors & News

Montreal Hockey Now: The wave of extensions continues. The Montreal Canadiens have locked up a big part of their future with a long-term extension. Lane Hutson, the 2024-25 Calder Trophy winner, inked an eight-year extension worth a team-friendly $8.85M AAV. The Habs have a bright future.

Colorado Hockey Now: Mikko Rantanen is no longer on the Colorado Avalanche’s top line, but Martin Necas is. While he may not be Rantanen, Colorado Hockey Now’s Aarif Deen says the duo of Necas and MacKinnon is unstoppable.

Vegas Hockey Now: Let’s check in on Las Vegas’ $204 million duo. Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner, you’d think, would be a match made in heaven. However, both are built to be playmakers, and Bruce Cassidy is considering splitting up the duo. Vegas Hockey Now’s Hannah Kirkell says the Knights should pump the brakes on splitting them up, for now.

The Score: The Buffalo Sabers are 0-3. Things have not been so great in Buffalo, and they have not been for a while. Paper bags have already appeared on the heads of Sabers fans, “Fire Adams” chants have started to sound, and now, frustration has emerged from the locker room. Sabers’ captain Rasmus Dahlin had some interesting comments about the frustration in Buffalo.

If the Sabres continue to not get untracked….maybe Bowen Byram will become available,

Egor Z may be on his way now…….maybe in a package deal to the Sabres for Byram or maybe a bigger deal with the Canucks’ for Hughes.
When the agent speaks out, with I assume permission from his client…..it seems like a foregone conclusion now.
