York’s Return
Signs all week have been pointing to the return of Flyers defenseman Cam York. He has been skating in a full-contact jersey, returned to his typical top-pair spot at practice on Wednesday, and Emil Andrae has been loaned back to the Phantoms.
York is set to make his season debut Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets.
The return of York will provide a much-needed spark to a struggling Flyers blueline, in great need of depth. It will allow the pair to go back to normal for the time being – Seeler back with Drysdale, Ginning back to the third pair.
York had a great preseason, looking like his best self since he entered the league. All eyes will be on the Flyers’ defenseman when he makes his much-anticipated season debut.
Previous Matchups
The Flyers and Jets played against each other twice last season, both within that first week of March. In the first game, the Flyers took the Jets to overtime in Winnipeg, where the Flyers came away with the win.
Ivan Fedotov was in net for the Flyers that night, and Jamie Drysdale scored the lone regulation goal, with Matvei Michkov scoring the shootout-winner. Mark Scheifele scored for Winnipeg.
The second meeting was not as kind to the Flyers. Winnipeg jumped out to a 4-0 lead by the time 40 minutes had gone by. The always dangerous Jets’ power play scored twice in the first period, followed by two even-strength goals in the second frame.
Michkov scored the Flyers’ only goal in the contest in Philly.

Juulsen should be in the press box instead of Andrae getting demoted to LHV. Andrae did not look out of place on Monday night. Pair him with Seeler who can take care of the physical aspect and put Drysdale with Ginning. Need to see Andrae develop at the NHL level and determine whether he’s trade bait or not.
I guess Egor Zamula is now on the trade block
Someone made a comment on yesterday’s article about Zamula’s agent complaining, which means that Zamula is unhappy.
If that’s the case, the Flyers need to move him quickly before he poisons Michkov’s attitude.
