Flyers Game 25: Lines, Notes, & How to Watch vs. Penguins

The Philadelphia Flyers (14-7-3) return home from their four-game road trip when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins (12-7-5) on Monday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena.

As mentioned, the Flyers will play their first home game after a road trip where the team went 3-1-0 against Florida, Tampa (loss), New York (Islanders), and New Jersey. Philadelphia has now won four of its last five games.

The Penguins, whose most recent game was a 7-2 loss to the Maple Leafs, have won two of their previous five games, going 2-2-1 in that span.

Last time these two teams met, there were plenty of fireworks. Could there be more after the puck drops at 7:00 p.m. EST in South Philly?

Things to watch

The last time these two teams met, it was chaos! A rivalry restored, if you will. A close game went to overtime, with not one, but two game-winners called back. After the horn, fireworks ensued before the shootout, making eight players unavailable for the shootout, four on each team.

The Flyers would win the game 3-2 after the shootout, but the final score felt lost; The real end result: the Keystone State Rivalry renewed.

You have to wonder if that’s why the Penguins recalled Boko Imama prior to Monday’s game, alongside Rutger McGroarty. This could be a “fiesty” game tonight, as Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet said.

Speaking of Tocchet, he confirmed that the forward lines will remain the same from Saturday, meaning Nikita Grebenkin in and Nick Deslauriers out. Although with the threat of Imama playing, you have to wonder if maybe thoughts of playing Deslauriers rise. Tocchet also said that Dan Vladar starts in goal, and that it will be a game-time decision between Egor Zamula and Noah Juulsen. Personally, I lean towards Juulsen for this matchup.
