Philadelphia Flyers
(UPDATED) Flyers’ Foerster Injured vs. Penguins
Philadelphia Flyers’ forward Tyson Foerster exited the team’s game vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second period of Monday’s contest.
With 13:41 to play in the second period, Foerster let a one-timer rip. Immediately following the shot, the Flyers’ left-winger hit the ice and skated to the bench holding his right shoulder.
This came less than a minute after the Flyers’ forward evened Monday’s game at one score apiece with his power-play goal.
Foerster has already missed some time this season after blocking a shot off the skate against the Toronto Maple Leafs in early November.
To this point, he has not returned to the bench.
After his goal in the game, the winger has 10 goals and three assists for the Flyers this season in 21 games.
The Penguins currently lead the game 3-1.
An update on Foerster will be provided when one becomes available.
Update on Foerster
Flyers PR announced that he is out for the remainder of the game with an “upper-body” injury.
A day later, the team admitted Foerster will be out for two to three months with the upper-body injury.
Foerster will eventually go on injured reserve, which will leave the Flyers with two open roster spots, since they are currently at 21 healthy players.

My concern is that it is a torn shoulder or bicep tendon, which would be a very long recovery. Of course, we won’t know because the Flyers will announce it as an “upper body injury”, as if it needs to be a secret.
