PhHN Daily: Flyers Extend Dvorak; Devils Drama; Senators Trade Rumors

The Philadelphia Flyers locked up a key part of the team’s current success on a long-term deal. They also have their fourth Olympian!



It was a busy day for the Flyers, who opened their Monday with a practice without Matvei Michkov. It ended with a long-term extension for a different forward.

Philly Hockey Now: The Philadelphia Flyers have officially locked up center Christian Dvorak, making him a part of the long-term plan. Dvorak and the Flyers agreed to a five-year, $25.75 million deal with a cap hit of $5.15 million.

The deal was reported to be for five years earlier in the evening, then was finalized before the night ended.

Elsewhere with the Flyers, they now have their fourth player officially named to an Olympic roster. Dan Vladar is headed to the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, representing Czechia.

Ottawa Sun: The Ottawa Senators are cruising right now, and find themselves as legitimate contenders. Bruce Garrioch has been all over their pursuit of a cup, and evaluates their trade market.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Well, that was quick. The Pittsburgh Penguins have officially waived former Flyer Egor Zamula with the purpose of contract termination. Zamula refused to report to the AHL’s SWB Penguins and has now moved on from Pittsburgh.

New Jersey Hockey Now: Luke Hughes had what was a night he will want to forget, and one that will be unforgettable to Devils fans. The young defenseman was booed by the home crowd, but James Nichols writes that Devils fans should be careful what they wish for.

Washington Hockey Now: The Flyers’ Tuesday opponent, the Anaheim Ducks, took on the Capitals. It was not the Ducks’ night, losing 7-4 to the Capitals as youngster Justin Sourdif scored his first-career NHL hat trick.

either will replace #27 or #14 current Flyers.
