Flyers Activate Dan Vladar, Loan Aleksei Kolosov Back to Phantoms
The Philadelphia Flyers have officially activated goaltender Dan Vladar off injured reserve on Wednesday. In a corresponding move, Aleksei Kolosov has been loaned back to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the AHL.
Vladar has not played since exiting following the first period of the Flyers’ disastrous game against the Buffalo Sabres on January 14th.
Since then, the goaltender was placed in IR. Sam Ersson an Aleksei Kolosov was the tandem in his absence, with Ersson getting the bulk of the action. The Flyers have gone 2-4-1 since the injury.
Getting their No. 1 goaltender back will bring some much needed reinforcements for the Flyers. There are five games remaining before the Olympic break — five crucial games to go into the break with some momentum.
Vladar has 16 of the team’s 24 wins this season, and has a 2.46 GAA and a .905 SV%.
The Czech goalie is headed to the Olympics in February.
Vladar will start against the Blue Jackets in his return to the lineup on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. EST in Columbus, Ohio.
