Flyers Practice: Ristolainen’s Maintenance; Updates on Konecny and Seeler
VOORHEES, N.J. – Amid the frenzy of trade rumors and speculation, the Philadelphia Flyers held practice at the Flyers Training Center on Tuesday following their 3-2 shootout win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It was about a 45-minute-long practice. It began with the team split into two groups: the defenseman with an EBUG on the main sheet, and the forwards with both Dan Vladar and Sam Ersson on the other one.
After the two groups did some drill work, they combined and opened with 2-on-2, then 3-on-3, and ended with 5-on-5. There was nothing really notable that happened at practice. Lines and pairs were pretty mixed up with four total absences.
Those absences include Travis Konecny, who did not play in Monday’s game with an upper-body injury, and Nick Seeler, who exited the second period of Thursday’s game with a lower-body injury.
Per head coach Rick Tocchet, there has not really been any real update, but he expects both to be a game-time decision on Thursday, following Wednesday’s day off.
The other two absences were Christian Dvorak and Rasmus Ristolainen. Tocchet had said that both players were a bit banged up, but it was more of a maintenance day with the day off before the next game.
So, a big sigh of relief as Ristolainen’s name remains prominent in the trade market.
Next up for the Flyers, one more game before the NHL trade deadline on Thursday, when the team takes on the Utah Mammoth at Xfinity Mobile Arena at 7:00 p.m. EST.

“…..Rasmus Ristolainen. Tocchet had said……… it was more of a maintenance day…..”
Wrap him in bubble wrap..
Just sit Ristolainen until after the deadline.
I wouldn’t do that. The team needs wins–preferably regulation wins. I know they only have 1 game before the deadline; it should still be all hands on deck to get the points.
Is Konecny concussed? I don’t recall anything happening in Saturday’s game. It must be something major to hold him out of games.
I’m not so sure about the major part. He made the trip to TOR. He tested it out and was deemed out within an hour of game time. Noah Juulsen (illness) did not make the trip.
TK has been putting his body on the line doing whatever it takes to get this team in position to win games, so bumps and bruises are expected.
And, fwiw, Konecny never came out for postgame media because his treatment was taking a while, so putting dots together, it probably isn’t concussion.
Now looking like the Stars are all in on Rasmus….joining other 5 Fins on the team…with buds Mikko and Miro….getting their Finnish Oly team back together in Dallas.
Question what will Danny B get back in return…Stars only have one first rounder left in the next three years…2027. Perhaps Mavrik will come along as added value.
His roommate in Milan was Mikko Rantanen!
The fit feels so natural, but I don’t think they have what the Flyers want, and aren’t willing to give up what they have.
