• NHL insider Elliotte Friedman shared Friday that GM Danny Briere and the Philadelphia Flyers were in on Colorado Avalanche defenseman Bowen Byram, but the Avs decided to pass on Cutter Gauthier as the return.
• The Flyers are suddenly making themselves into comeback kids. In Friday’s Flyers game, the team erased a two-goal deficit in the third period to come back and win, 4-3, in overtime.

• The Pittsburgh Penguins are going to be without Reilly Smith for a while, making their playoff outlook even dimmer.
• On Friday, the Montreal Canadiens announced that they would be calling up top prospect Joshua Roy from the Laval Rocket. Roy, 20, leads the Rocket in scoring with 30 points in 34 games.
• Canadiens forward Sean Monahan is reportedly set to hit the trade block. Do the Colorado Avalanche make sense for the veteran center?
• Buffalo is about to get slammed with a healthy dose of winter weather this weekend. Right now, the Buffalo Sabres are set to play their game on Saturday evening as originally planned.
