In Wednesday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, NHL news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

  • Early on Tuesday morning, it was reported by TSN NHL insider Darren Dreger that the Philadelphia Flyers and Ivan Fedotov had agreed to terms on a contract extension; the final number was just slightly higher.
  • But, did the Flyers get the short end of the stick on the Ivan Fedotov contract? Maybe, but the social media reaction to the news was simply far too overblown for the occasion.
  • In other Flyers news, former Flyers star Jakub Voracek officially announced his retirement from hockey in an interview with CNN Prima News, citing health and a dozen concussions as his motive.
  • After an up-and-down season that featured an injury at the worst time, Flyers All-Star Travis Konecny has reportedly declined to participate in the upcoming IIHF World Championships in May.
  • In case you missed it, the Flyers are expected to allow University of Minnesota standout Bryce Brodzinski to walk in free agency once his signing rights expire in August.

  • Ahead of their playoff series against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Pittsburgh Penguins are loading up the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins with a bunch of their better prospects.
  • Stanley Cup playoffs: Alexandar Georgiev and the Colorado Avalanche enjoyed a bounce-back performance on Tuesday night, coming back down to earth to defeat the Winnipeg Jets, 5-2, in Game 2.
  • Stanley Cup playoffs: Although they lost Sam Bennett in the second period, the Florida Panthers hung on to defeat the Tampa Bay Lightning, 3-2 in overtime, thanks to a Spiderman save from former Flyer Sergei Bobrovsky.
