Flyers News

  • The Philadelphia Flyers alumni defeated the Boston Bruins alumni, 6-2, in Friday night’s Flyers Alumni Game. General manager Danny Briere had an intermission press conference, offering some information on some recent transactions, including the Owen Tippett and Ryan Poehling contract extensions.
  • The Flyers signed winger Owen Tippett to a blockbuster eight-year, $49.6 million contract extension on Friday afternoon, giving him the longest term on the team’s roster.
  • Tippett wasn’t the only one to extend his stay in Philadelphia; Center Ryan Poehling has agreed to a two-year contract extension of his own, set to be signed and finalized in the coming days.
  • Flyers fan-favorite Wayne Simmonds unofficially announced his retirement on Friday: ‘I’m done’
  • The Flyers Stadium Series jerseys finally released on Friday morning and they’re certainly not the worst of the four jerseys that released.
