In Tuesday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, NHL news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

  • Watch: Star Philadelphia Flyers prospect Matvei Michkov appeared in a YouTube short with Russian hockey content creator Hockey Stigg to teach a masterful breakaway move to the audience.
  • On Monday morning, the Flyers announced they had finally, officially, signed highly-touted defense prospect Hunter McDonald to a two-year, entry-level contract starting in 2024-25.
  • And, if you don’t know about Hunter McDonald already, you should start to learn. The Flyers’ front office loves him, and for very good reason, I might add.
  • With his goal against New Jersey on Saturday night, Travis Konecny saved the Flyers’ season – for now. Here’s how it came about.
  • In case you missed it, esteemed Flyers prospect Massimo Rizzo and his University of Denver squad won their NCAA-leading 10th national title on Saturday night.

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • Montreal Canadiens rookie defenseman Lane Hutson recorded his first NHL point on his first NHL shift in an overtime loss against Detroit on Monday night.
  • On Monday afternoon, the Florida Panthers announced that they signed general manager Bill Zito to a multi-year contract extension.
  • Despite the injuries piling up, the Vegas Golden Knights are still right in the thick of the playoff race, and newly-acquired Tomas Hertl is primed to help them finish the job this week.
  • In an effort to bolster their goaltending depth with Jacob Markstrom’s future uncertain, the Calgary Flames took a chance on Waltteri Ignatjew, a free agent hailing from HockeyAllsvenskan.
  • Late on Monday night, Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid became just the fourth player in NHL history to record 100 assists in a single season, joining Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Bobby Orr.
