Sam Carchidi: With context, Flyers’ losing streaks are even worse (+)

Sean Couturier, Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers have faded badly without hard-working center Sean Couturier, going 1-7-3 in his absence, including a 10-game winless streak.

It’s not that it’s bad enough that the Philadelphia Flyers have had two 10-game losing streaks and that crowds at the Wells Fargo Center are getting thinner and thinner.

It’s that they already have a combined 20-game losing streak and the season hasn’t even reached the halfway mark.

It’s that they have two 10-game skids quicker in a season than any NHL team in 30 years.

The Flyers (13-19-8) have played 40 games, and will reach the halfway mark Saturday afternoon in Buffalo, where they have a great chance to stop their skid against the sad-sack Sabres (12-21-7).
