At All-Star weekend, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman took questions from reporters and was asked about a wide-range of topics.

One of them was about Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov not taking part in Pride Night pre-game warmups before a game last month. The players wore rainbow Pride jerseys, showing their LGBTQ support during the warmups. Provorov did not participate, citing his religious beliefs.

All of the other Philadelphia Flyers took part in the Jan. 17 warmups.

That was followed by the New York Rangers’ decision to backtrack and not wear Pride-themed jerseys before a Jan. 27 game.
