The Philadelphia Flyers ended their long practice Wednesday with an E-A-G-L-E-S chant, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to learn which team they think will win the Super Bowl on Sunday.

In an informal survey, the Flyers think the Eagles will whip the Kansas Chiefs. Most believe it will be a high-scoring game.

Center Scott Laughton said the city’s emotion toward the Eagles indirectly helps the Philadelphia Flyers.

“You try and feed off of it as much as you can,” he said. “You can feel the energy in the city with everything that’s going on.”

“There’s kind of a buzz,” defenseman Nick Seeler said. “Just like when the Phillies were in the World Series and the city was buzzing.”

Center Morgan Frost said you can feel the vibes around the city because of the Eagles. “We still have a lot of work to do, but it kind of motivates you to be in that position, to,” he said. “And it makes you wonder what it would be like if we were going to the Stanley Cup (Final).”

Toward the end of practice, the Flyers began playing football on the ice. Frost even made a diving catch of a pass thrown by Travis “Jalen” Konecny.

Laughton was asked if Frost was NFL material.

“Maybe as a kicker,” he cracked.

Predictions

A sampling of the picks:

Tony DeAngelo: “We’re too good of a defensive line, too good of an offensive line. They won’t be able to pressure us. The running game will eat the clock. We win the game, 31-20. … The MVP? Let’s go with A.J. Brown with 150-plus yards.”

Scott Laughton: “I’ve got to see what I have on my Super Bowl square. It’s a big (pool), too. OK, I’ll go 28-21, Birds.”

Owen Tippett: “I’m honestly not a big football fan, but I’ll have to go with the Eagles. I’ll say, 28-21.”

Kevin Hayes: “I have the Chiefs in a pool. But I want the Eagles to win. I think the Eagles will win, 31-24. I just think their O-line and D-line is too much.”

Nick Seeler: “I have to go with the Eagles. I mean, if you live in Philly, you have to go with the Eagles, right? I’ll say 27-24, Eagles. They obviously have a great offense, and Jalen (Hurts) is fun to watch.”

Noah Cates: “I know Patrick Mahomes is kind of like Tom Brady. Coming up and kind of hard to beat. But I think the Eagles have a full team and they’ll win. I’ll say 35-28.”

Morgan Frost: “I’m not a huge football guy, but I’ve been watching. I really like their receivers. I think they’re pretty fun to watch. They’ve definitely got some swagger on offense, with (DeVonta) Smith and A.J. Brown. I’ll say Eagles, 30-17 or 30-20.”

John Tortorella: “I’m a huge football fan, and I don’t think anything is going to stop the Eagles. I think it’s destiny for them in just the way it’s gone, and how they do present themselves.” Tortorella didn’t give a score, but said, “I want the boys (Flyers) to see how this sports town reacts to a team that’s in it. I want them to experience that (someday). Whether we do or not, we’ll find out.”
