Philadelphia Flyers prospect Alexis Gendron has been a goal-scoring machine in his amateur career.

He scored 55 goals and had 81 points in 63 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season. The forward scored 30 goals the season before in the same league.

The seventh-round draft pick was rewarded on Tuesday with a three-year, entry-level contract, the Philadelphia Flyers announced. According to CapFriendly, the deal is $860,000 for each season. The breakdown is $775,000, NHL; $85,000, signing bonus; and $825,000, minors.

Gendron, 19, was the 220th overall draft pick in the 2022 draft. He is 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. He scored 21 power-play goals and nine game-winning goals last season.

Gendron posted on his Twitter feed (@alexgundy30) — “Extremely proud and honored to have signed my first contract with @nhlflyers thanks to everyone who helped me along the way, family, friends, coaches and teammates.”

Before he was drafted, Elite Prospects described his game: “He can pull the puck through opponents, make passes off walls, place the puck inside space for teammates, has decent off-puck instincts — where to go at what time — and generally shows anticipation in the game. There is deception, too.”

His father, Martin, was a 1992 third-round pick by the Capitals. Martin played 30 NHL games and scored four goals and two assists. He had a long minor league and also played professionally overseas.

Martin Gendron has been a Quebec-based Flyers’ scout since 2019.
