In Friday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking Philadelphia Flyers news, stories, highlights, and more from the past day.

Flyers news

  • Not only are the Philadelphia Flyers legitimately good, but they also have the Vancouver Canucks’ number. That much was evident on Thursday, as those pesky Flyers racked up three goals in 2:06 to power them to a 4-1 win at Rogers Arena. [Flyers recap]
  • In fact, the Flyers are so good, it’s time Philadelphia starts taking them seriously again. Yes, that means staying up until 1 a.m. to watch them play on the West Coast. [Carchidi Column]
  • Forward Noah Cates has joined up with the Flyers post-holiday break, and has resumed skating on his own. That’s a good sign his return to the ice is on the horizon. [Noah Cates]
  • PhHN+: The Flyers have Max Pacioretty reasons to believe Cutter Gauthier is, in fact, a guy they can build around going forward. [Cutter Gauthier]

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • The Buffalo Sabres are going to be without superstar Tage Thompson for a little bit due to ‘personal reasons’. Also, go show Buffalo Hockey Now’s newest beat writer, Jason Moser, some love over there. He just launched this week. [Buffalo Sabres]
  • The Montreal Canadiens are still kind of in the Eastern Conference wild card race, and a lot of that has to do with the play of rookie defenseman Jayden Struble. Buy your stocks now. [Montreal Canadiens]
  • Despite an exhilarating win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, New Jersey Devils head coach Lindy Ruff ran a tough practice on Thursday. At one point, he let the team have it during a drill. [New Jersey Devils]
  • Roberto Luongo is officially back with the Florida Panthers… kinda. You’ll have to see for yourselves. [Florida Panthers]
  • Former Calgary Flames forward, Nick Ritchie, is about to be facing some discipline after blowing a gasket during his game in Finland’s Liiga. [Calgary Flames]
