In Monday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

  • The Philadelphia Flyers suffered two rough losses this weekend, and perhaps the one on Sunday in the Flyers game against the Ottawa Senators was the roughest of the two. Indeed, these games were part of a back-to-back, but the team was uncharacteristically slow and sloppy defensively in both games.
  • In that game against the Senators, Egor Zamula scored one of the strangest goals you’ll see in the 2023-24 season.
  • In case you missed it, our three Flyers takeaways from the game against the Colorado Avalanche.
  • Former Flyers goalie Martin Jones has made the most of his last-ditch opportunity with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and has arguably saved their season from unprecedented disaster.
  • Head coach John Tortorella warned of another Flyers trade coming in an interview with NBC Sports Philadelphia late last week.

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • Something that is rare for the New Jersey Devils these days: we have a Jack Hughes injury update.
  • The New York Islanders needed a jolt up their rears to try and save their season. Based on players’ early impressions, new head coach Patrick Roy is the guy they needed in the locker room.
  • The San Jose Sharks welcomed Logan Couture back to their lineup against the Anaheim Ducks, and the captain punctuated his return with an assist.
  • Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin has been frustrated with his game lately, and head coach Mike Sullivan has an explanation for it.
  • We have some good news out of Motown, as well: the Detroit Red Wings could see Patrick Kane get back out on the ice as soon as this week.
