In Thursday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

  • The Philadelphia Flyers and GM Danny Briere could not, in any capacity, comment on the status of Carter Hart and the Hockey Canada reports that came to light on Wednesday morning.
  • How many Flyers fans would like to see Kimmo Timonen back in charge of the team’s power play? He says he can fix the issues… kind of.
  • Earlier Thursday morning, we previewed the Flyers game against the Detroit Red Wings.
  • The game comes on the heels of a three-game losing streak; our three Flyers takeaways from their latest loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, featuring Cam Atkinson and Joel Farabee.
  • ICYMI: In that last loss, newcomer defenseman Jamie Drysdale scored his first goal – a power play tally – as a Flyers player.

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • In a bit of a surprise, it looks as though former New York Islanders winger Zach Parise will reportedly be signing with the Colorado Avalanche before the end of the month, with sights on a post-All-Star break debut.
  • New Jersey Devils Cal Foote and Michael McLeod requested and were granted leaves of absence on Wednesday.
  • The Calgary Flames placed forward Adam Ruzicka on waivers on Wednesday, and his penalty against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday looks like a career turning point.
  • Bad news just keeps on rolling in for the Montreal Canadiens; top prospect David Reinbacher is about to be playing for his third (!) coach this season.
  • The Detroit Red Wings will not have Ben Chiarot or Patrick Kane available for their game against Philadelphia on Thursday night.
