Bailey’s Daily: Flyers’ Future, Sean Monahan Trade Fallout, Hockey Canada
In Saturday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.
Flyers News
- We took an inside look at the future of Philadelphia Flyers goaltending, Brandon Wheat Kings goaltender Carson Bjarnason, with the help of Wheat Kings goaltending coach Tyler Plante and Bjarnason himself.
- Carchidi Column: The Flyers’ 2023-24 campaign can still be a very good one, even without the postseason. That revolves around general manager Danny Briere and his ability to acquire valuable draft picks in the coming weeks.
- One place Briere could start? Veteran forward Scott Laughton, whom the Flyers are reportedly listening to trade offers on, per TSN’s Darren Dreger.
- If the Flyers do manage to acquire a first-round pick for Laughton, it will be thanks to the Elias Lindholm trade that helped set the NHL trade market in a significant way.
- Elsewhere on the roster, the Flyers still have defenseman Sean Walker, who is a very highly-rated asset around the NHL.

- With yet another center now off limits, the lack of a first-round pick has significantly hindered Boston Bruins trade efforts.
- The NHL is returning to the Winter Olympics in 2026, but which Calgary Flames have a chance at being in attendance for the games?
- Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby took some time to reflect on the news about the Olympics, as well as the possibility of playing for Team Canada in a few years.
- NHL commissioner Gary Bettman offered some… interesting comments on the Hockey Canada situation on Friday afternoon.
