In Thursday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, NHL news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

  • Thanks to confirmation from a TSN’s NHL insider, Darren Dreger, it is now known that Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella will still be the team’s bench boss next season in spite of wild speculation.
  • My Wednesday column: the Flyers missing the playoffs is actually a good thing, even when accounting for all of the good and all of the bad from this season. There’s plenty to look forward to this summer.
  • Not long before that, on Tuesday night, Tortorella said that the Flyers had reached “rock bottom”, and after eight straight losses, it’s hard to argue that.
  • Nine goals from Montreal, six goals from Columbus, and zero dignity for the Flyers in Tuesday night’s Flyers takeaways.
  • In case you missed it, 2023 Flyers draft pick Matteo Mann joined the ECHL’s Reading Royals on a professional tryout for the rest of the season.

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • With only four games left in the season, three Montreal Canadiens players have a lot on the line before the offseason officially begins for the Habs.
  • You may feel inclined to count the Nashville Predators out of the conversation in a really competitive Western Conference, but you shouldn’t. It would make them most motivated.
  • If the Boston Bruins have anything, it’s a competitive advantage with their two star goalies. An NHL scout explains how the Bs can use it to their advantage in the postseason this year.
  • Promising San Jose Sharks prospect Danil Gushchin denied a long-standing rumor about his immediate playing career on Tuesday, squashing it once and for all.
  • Congratulations are in order for Chicago Blackhawks prospect Landon Slaggert, who potted his first NHL goal, despite the Hawks getting pulverized by St. Louis.
