Flyers, Kraken Make AHL Swap
The Philadelphia Flyers and Seattle Kraken have made a trade, swapping two 22 year old AHL forwards.

The Philadelphia Flyers have traded prospect Jon-Randall (J.R.) Avon to the Seattle Kraken in exchange for prospect Tucker Robertson.
Avon, 22, a C/LW, has spent the past two seasons in Lehigh Valley for the Phantoms, earning a total of 35 points with 16 goals and 19 assists in 125 games in the AHL.
Robertson, a 22-year-old center, spent the entire past season in the AHL for the Coachella Valley Firebirds, scoring four goals and five assists for nine points in 38 games. The season prior, he spent 39 games with the Firebirds, scoring six goals and four assists for 10 points, but also played 13 games in the ECHL, earning 14 points with four goals.
Robertson was a fourth-round pick by Seattle in 2022.
Both Robertson and Avon played for the Peterborough Petes in the OHL from 2019 through 2023. Both players wore an “A” for the Petes in 22-23.
This trade, the two sides essentially just swapped AHLers. Avon primarily played the wing for the Phantoms while Robertson was a center for Coachella. As an organization, the Flyers made a move to bolster a position of need in the pipeline.
Avon posses tons of speed, and can be quite dynamic. In the few trips I have made to the PPL Center, Avon has always stood out.
Robertson is a bit less dynamic, but far more responsible. He plays much more of a two-way game, turning defense into offense. While he does not possess the flash speed of Avon, Robertson has a keen sense for crashing the net.
Both players are expected to report to their new AHL clubs.
