Flyers COVID Protocol list: Travis Konecny added, Travis Sanheim removed

Travis Konecny

The Philadelphia Flyers still have seven players on the NHL’s COVID Protocol list after Sunday’s release. However, there is one change on the list.

Travis Konecny is the Flyers’ lone addition to the list for Sunday, February 14th. On the other hand, Travis Sanheim was removed from the list one week after being added. Justin Braun, Morgan Frost, Claude Giroux, Scott Laughton, Oskar Lindblom, and Jakub Voracek remain on the list.

Sanheim being removed from the list is a good sign for the Flyers, but Konecny being added is worrisome. Even beyond the health and safety risks, the Flyers now have a few important players on the list. Hopefully, a few of them will be removed from the list early in the week.

There has been no announcement regarding the Flyers’ upcoming schedule. They are slated to play the New York Rangers on Thursday. Then, they’re supposed to be going up to Lake Tahoe for the outdoor game against the Bruins next Sunday.

The Flyers are now at the week mark without playing a game after their 7-4 win against the Washington Capitals last Sunday. They will almost certainly need a few days of practice before their first game, and ideally that first game won’t be on the National stage at Lake Tahoe.

We’ll have to continue to wait and see what happens with the Flyers, the Lake Tahoe game, and the NHL’s handling of the COVID situation moving forward.
