Patrick Kane’s highly anticipated debut Thursday with the New York Rangers was ruined by three former Philadelphia Flyers.

Ex-Flyers Claude Giroux, Derick Brassard and Cam Talbot — a trio of 35-year-olds –led the Ottawa Senators to a 5-3 win over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

Brassard, playing in his 1,000th career game, had two goals, while Giroux had three points (goal, two assists), and Talbot stopped 29 of 32 shots.

Kane, acquired from Chicago on Tuesday, was point-less with four shots and a minus-2 rating.

Giroux has 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in his last eight games. He has 63 points (26-37) in 61 games and is strengthening his case to one day reach the Hockey Hall of Fame.

The right winger had eight shot attempts and was plus-3.

Ottawa (31-26-4) has won four straight and is four points behind the New York Islanders for the Eastern Conference’s final wildcard spot; the Senators have three games in hand.

Brassard became the seventh player in NHL history to score two goals in his 1,000th game.

“I’m going to remember that for the rest of my life. It was awesome,” Brassard said.

Defenseman Jakob Chychrun, acquired from Arizona on Wednesday, made his Ottawa debut. He blocked five shots and was plus-1.

The Rangers were coming off Wednesday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center.
